Congratulations to the Lorenzo De Zavala Middle School 8th Grade Coyotes! The Dark Team kicked off district play in dominant fashion, defeating RYMS 53-23 to move to 1-0 in district. It was a fantastic team effort all around. The Light Team fought hard in their matchup but came up just short. Their effort and determination continue to set the tone for the season. Congratulations to the Lorenzo De Zavala Middle School 8th Grade Coyotes! The Light Team battled for a thrilling 19-18 OT victory against JD Salinas to start the season 1-0. Juan Rodriguez led with 6 points, Ian Maldonado hit a clutch 3 to help reach OT, and Omar Saenz sealed it with a big 3-pointer. The Dark Team dominated with a 42-20 victory, also moving to 1-0. Stuart Benoit led with 18 points, Salvador Villagran added 16, and Dante Salinas chipped in 6. Fantastic team effort from everyone—what a start to the season, Coyotes!
