What a way to close the season! ⚽🔥 Our 8th Grade Lady Coyotes finished strong with a 1–0 victory over Irene Garcia MS in their final game of the year! Hard work, discipline, and heart were on full display from start to finish. We are so proud of these young ladies for their commitment and teamwork all season long. A huge thank you to Coach Peña and Coach Rodriguez for their dedication, leadership, and steady encouragement. Your investment in these girls goes far beyond the field. We are proud to announce that 6 of our students qualified for State, and many more were just a few points away! After a tough semi-final match that came down to sudden-death penalty kicks, our 8th grade girls soccer team bounced back with determination and won their 3rd-place match to bring home a well-earned trophy and podium finish at this weekend's tournament. The Lady Coyotes wrap up their season Monday at home as they host Garcia MS — come out and support them as they finish strong! ⚽🔥

They do it again! 💪🏀 A big congratulations to the 8th Grade Boys Light Team for taking 3rd place at today’s McAllen tournament. After a challenging first game, the team responded in a big way—closing out the final with a clutch buzzer beater to earn the podium finish. The 8th Grade Dark Team battled through the consolation bracket, picking up a first-round win before falling in the final. Strong effort from both squads as they keep building momentum heading into the rest of the season.

Relentless effort on every possession set the tone as the boys now head into this weekend’s tournament ready to build on the momentum. Proud of the fight—let’s keep it rolling! 🏀🔥

Reminder! 📣 Join us this Saturday for the Middle School GT Innovators Workshop at the Planetarium from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. Students will enjoy hands-on STEAM activities, LEGO robotics, and a drone flying session. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Due to expected inclement weather, all La Joya ISD schools will have a 1-hour delayed start on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

🚍 Bus routes will also run one hour later than normal.
👩‍🏫 Teachers and staff report at their regular time.
🎨🏀 All athletic and fine arts practices scheduled for the morning are canceled.
