Mr. Navarro’s class enjoyed a read-aloud by book club member, Janelle Gonzalez 8th grade. They stomped left, they stomped right, and stomped low and high!

students created their own Dr. Seuss hat, enjoyed a few snacks, and received a free book with a Dr. Seuss bookmark! Book Club members: 8th grade, Aimarany Valdez, and Jaynee Rodriguez made sure their bows and whiskers were on correctly!

What an incredible 30 days it has been here at La Joya ISD! In such a short period of time, I’ve had the privilege of learning so much and meeting many of you. I have discovered that we have wonderfully talented and dedicated students and educators here in La Joya ISD and that we have a lot of work ahead of us. I have no doubt that with dedication and hard work, we will ensure our district builds on the strong foundations that already exist in order to exemplify excellence and continue to share out what we learn, transparently. Rest assured; I am committed to working tirelessly every day to ensure the success of our students is at the forefront of all of our decision-making processes. Congratulations to our LDZ Jr. Jewelettes for their outstanding performance at the Showtime International Competition this past Saturday in San Marcos, Texas. These talented dancers won 12 awards in the following categories: Officer Hip-Hop routine, Team Jazz, Team Contemporary, Officer Contemporary, Sweepstakes, and Judges' awards for receiving 90s and above in all routines. We are very proud of you.
The following talented dancers, soloist Alexis Ramirez and Alyssa Martinez received a division one medal and Alexis Ramirez was awarded a first runner up soloist trophy in the Jr. Division.
